“I Knew You”

Today’s blog post is a very special one for my wife and I. Through the course of the blog post I will be referring to our daughter Hannah by name but you can put your name where hers appears since this also applies to you though it is dedicated to her.
Jeremiah I:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated you and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Dear Hannah my precious baby and gift from God. Today you turn 2 years old, but for us the journey did not start two years ago. You have been a part of our lives blessing us now for about two years and ten months when you were conceived. Oh what a great joy it was for us as we discovered that God had blessed us and we would soon be parents. As we picked every baby cloth, as we listened to your little heart beat, as we felt your every move in the womb, what joy it produced in us and what joy it produces in us every time we see you making progress in your development as a child. We observed with joy as you learnt to hold yourself on your belly, then as you learnt to stand, later as you learnt to crawl, as you learnt to walk, and as you learnt to run. Your ability to learn so quickly even as you started counting from 1-3 each time you went to the park to slide, then from there you progressed to counting from 1-10 in English and Spanish and now from 1-20 in English. The way you read, the way you pray and say amen at the mention of Jesus name, the way you worship, the way you dance, the way you laugh. For us the journey began two years and ten months ago and it is going to carry on into eternity as we all celebrate together as several generations united in the kingdom of our great Daddy God.
Indeed our journey to parenthood started from the very Friday in August of 2008 we found out that you had been conceived about 7-8 weeks before, but there is someone who says, “before I formed you in your mothers womb I knew you and approved of you [as my chosen instrument].” Our daddy God knew you ever before we did, He knew you before you were conceived of and He approved of you to be born and not anyone else. It was the divine making and destiny of God that you were born on the day you were born, at the hour you were born, in the city you were born, and in the home you were born in. God knew you before anyone knew you, and though many other children could have been born in your place, it did not happen that way because God knew you and approved of you.  He formed you bit by bit. He pieced you together so that when you were born you were a masterpiece of the Masters hand, and looking at you (before you were born) He approved of you.  You are not a mistake and neither was your birth a mistake. Our daddy God the Father knew you and approved of you to be born for a time like this.
God specially pieced you together and He consecrated you, He placed His seal of approval on you and set you apart for a special purpose which you will discover as you grow up. From the moment you were born, your life therefore became an adventure to discover who you are, who God made you and called you to be. He already knows all that info, which is why we need to know Him so that He can lead us to discover who we really are. There is a potential God has placed in your life, and you may or may not know it, but as you grow up, you will begin to discover things you like and those that you do not. As your parents we will continue to be intrigued every step of the way as we follow your progress on this adventure and as we try to lead you on the best path we know.
In Matthew 10:39 Jesus says, “he who has found his life will lose it, but He who looses His life for My sake will find it.”
This means that even though He knows everyone and has a specific purpose for every life on the planet today, every life that ever lived and every life that shall live, not everyone finds the right path. Some people choose to do things in their own way rather than Gods therefore they totally loose sight of the call of God and the destiny of God which He placed in them as He was forming them and as He approved of them. There are others of which you are a part of beautiful Hannah baby that are willing to loose their own ideas and ambitions to follow that of Christ and by so doing they truly find the purpose and destiny God placed in them while they were being formed. Not everyone is called to be in the ministry specifically serving God full time, but whatever gift and talent God has given to you is to be used to bless His Kingdom. You may not be called to be a Pastor or Teacher but you may be called to release finances into the work of God, or to be a musician who hears the sounds of heaven and knows how to bring it to earth, whatever the call and purpose of God which He has placed in you it is important that you remember to seek His presence always.
God knew you Hannah baby (put your name here) before we did and He approved of you, and set you apart for a special purpose. He has a special work for you to do in His kingdom and He loves you. We your parents rejoice at the opportunity of having you as a special blessing from God, you are our delight. As you wake up everyday and smile, as you call me “daddy daddy” it makes my day and so also when you say “Mammy Mammy” how excited we become. I couldn’t imagine these almost three years without you. We love you our joy, our precious beautiful princess, our lovely daughter the one and only Hannah. What a delight it is to be your parents. Thought it has been a challenge as both Mammy and I learn how to be mammy and daddy, we love you so much and we can’t do without you princess.
Happy second birthday, you deserve all the best and God has all the best planned out for your life. Remember He knew you and has a great plan and purpose for you as you seek Him He will lead you on the road of discovery.
Happy birthday baby! The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His Face shine on you, the Lord be gracious unto you, the Lord bless you and give you peace. Amen!

Daddy and Mammy!!!
